A year of work and reward for OLA Sister Maria Pesavento, O.S.F. Beginning another new year always gives me pause and I wonder, “How did 365 days pass so quickly?” The fact that so much has happened here at OLA this past year, I believe, did indeed make time fly. Renovation and licensing of the C Wing was completed and twenty-three of our Sister residents became the first occupants in September. We are currently waiting for our Medicare certification to become a fully functioning skilled nursing/rehabilitation unit. Last spring construction began on Our Lady of Angels Village. Fourteen duplexes are in various stages of completion. A model cottage will be open in mid-February with the pioneer residents moving in shortly after. In the midst of all these extraordinary events, life continued to be good for our residents and staff. We celebrated birthdays, had picnics, luaus and our monthly happy hours. Activities both in and out of the building abounded. We prayed together, laughed and yes, sometimes even cried together. And through all of this, I believe, we continue to be a premier place to live and work. Yes, God was good to us last year. Know we are grateful to each of you and to all of you. Thank you for sharing your time, your talent, your treasure with us. We look forward to your continued support, love and prayers.
