Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home is rated five stars overall by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Latest results were posted recently on the Nursing Home Compare section of the Department’s Medicare/Medicaid web page, www.Medicare.gov/NHCompare. Scores range from five, much above average, to one, much below average. Ratings are given in four areas: health inspections, nursing home staffing, quality measures, and overall.
OLA is the only facility in Will County to receive this highest overall rating. OLA is also the only facility in an area including Du Page, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, and Will Counties to receive five stars in three or more rating categories.
“We’re all certainly excited and happy to get this news,” said OLA Administrator Michelle Hart-Carlson. “Our staff, volunteers and Board of Directors all work hard to make OLA a wonderful place to live. At OLA, we have an added benefit, the sponsorship of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate. Since opening OLA in 1962, OLA has grown to become the first faith-based continuing-care community in Joliet. We offer independent living cottage homes and apartments, skilled-care nursing and rehabilitation, along with sheltered and intermediate nursing care.
“This honor only sets the bar higher for the future,” Hart-Carlson said, “and encourages everyone to do their best for all our residents.”
