Guided by our mission to provide loving care in a life-giving atmosphere, we have created a campus lifestyle where men and women can enjoy peace of mind, enhance their spiritual life, participate in a variety of interesting new social, recreational and wellness opportunities, and receive physical and emotional support as may be needed over time. Our beautiful chapel is the physical and spiritual center of our community. Mass is offered at 4:00 pm. daily, Monday through Saturday and at 7:25 a.m. on Sunday. We welcome your family and friends, as well as the public to join us in daily worship. To encourage and promote physical fitness and wellbeing, our new Community Center will feature both a Fitness Center with a professional trainer and a Wellness Center, staffed by a professional nurse. Exercise classes will be available on a regular schedule. Social activities provide opportunities for making new friends, enjoying fellowship, going on popular trips to the theater, out to restaurants or to specially selected destinations. Residents socialize with their friends and neighbors and engage in shared interests on a daily basis. Lifelong learning opportunities are planned in partnership with the University of St. Francis, the Joliet Junior College and Lewis University. Small groups including Bible study, book clubs, investment clubs, photography, cards and games will be developed in response to residents' interests. Volunteer opportunities on and off campus will enable OLAV men and women to truly "Embrace today" by helping others.
