Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Care In September 2007, the continuum of care at Our Lady of Angels was enhanced with the addition of skilled nursing services and skilled rehabilitation care. These services are Medicare-certified and will now provide the highest level of nursing care to Our Lady of Angels residents within the comfort and familiarity of our own community. Medicare-certified spells of illness usually follow a hospital stay and are of shorter term duration, after which individuals may be able to return to their previous living arrangement. In some cases, individuals may remain for extended care in skilled or intermediate nursing care. Our Lady of Angels provides the following skilled nursing and rehabilitation services: Professional skilled nursing care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Specialized wound care IV therapy Complex medical care Feeding tube care Skilled Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy services Skilled nursing care is often covered by Medicare Part A for a specified number of days.
